The Pentagon can now use a laser to identify someone based on their Heartbeat

Have you ever imagined that someone can be recognized by their heartbeat? The Pentagon has made it possible.

The Pentagon’s Combating Terrorism Technical Support Office (CTTSO) has invented a technical device that can identify people on the basis of their cardiac signature using an infrared laser.

The device named Jetson takes nearly 30 seconds to identify people using a technique known as “laser vibrometry”. It’s a non-invasive technique that reviews the vibration measurement generated by someone’s heartbeat.

Jetson can work from a distance of 200 meters on normal clothing but will not be capable to work on thicker cloths like a winter coat.

Technicians are working on the advancement of the laser so that identification can be made possible done from long range.

Steward Remaly from CTTSO, says,” I don’t want to say you could do it from space, but longer ranges should be possible”. He also told that Jetson is 95% accurate under good condition and further developments are possible.”
