Kelly Preston, known for her role in films such as Jerry Maguire where she starred alongside Tom Cruise, passed away a short time ago. The actress had been battling breast cancer for years and was confirmed to have died by her husband, John Travolta.
“Choosing to keep her fight private, she had been undergoing medical treatment for some time, supported by her closest family and friends. She was a bright, beautiful and loving soul who cared deeply about others and who brought life to everything she touched. Her family asks for your understanding of their need for privacy at this time.”

She had been diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago, choosing to keep her battle a private matter. Even during that time she appeared in films. Including a role in Gotti, starring alongside her husband, John Travolta.
Her marriage to Travolta was 28 years long, during which they had three children. Two of their children are surviving today; Benjamin and Ella, their third child tragically died at 16.
John Travolta kept his own comments about his wife’s illness a secret as well. At this time there is no comment from the family outside of the above quote from the representative. Travolta did share some heartfelt comments on social media, but has remained mostly silent.
While she may mostly be known for her role in Jerry Maguire, she had starred in some cult classic films throughout the years. Including films like: The Cat in the Hat, Space Camp, From Dusk Till Dawn and What a Girl Wants.
Our condolences go out to her family and friends in this tragic time. She has left behind a legacy of film roles and an upbeat attitude that anyone should aspire to. A loving mother and a terrific actress.
