Amber Heard’s starring as Hera in Aquaman 2 is in doubt, as she faces jail-time over falsifying evidence in her lawsuit against Johnny Depp.
The actress could face up to three years for falsifying evidence in an attempt to get a restraining order against Depp.
Depp is suing Heard for $50 million for defamation, after Heard accused Depp of domestic abuse. Depp has alleged that Heard was the abuser, and now it looks like Heard may have faked her injuries in order to get the restraining order.
If she did fake those injuries, that is falsifying evidence, which could land her in jail.
Obviously, landing herself in jail, or even if Depp wins his lawsuit, it is likely that she is out as Hera in the super hero sequel.
Allegations against Depp came out a few years ago, and it quickly led the actor losing several big-name roles and positions. However, growing evidence to show Heard was lying have come to light.
Most recently, audio was released in which Heard was, well, heard telling Depp that she only slapped him, didn’t hit him, and no one will believe him if he comes forward about it.
Even her stylist has claimed to have never seen the injuries that Heard was shown to have endured at the hands of Depp, which lends support to the idea that she used make-up to give the appearance of the injuries.
Aquaman 2 is believed to begin filming in early 2021, so if she does actually have to leave the project, there is a lot of time to makes changes. The film is set for release on December 16th, 2022, with director, James Wan, set to return.
