Apple To Launch 5G Phones In 2020
As per the new note shared with investors by Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo states that Apple will launch three iPhones with 5G feature support in 2020.
Recently, Apple has purchased Intel’s smartphone modem chip business at $1 billion, which now brings Apple closer to developing 5G iPhones with more resources.
Kuo said that he expects all three new iPhone models coming in 2020 would support both mmWave and Sub-6GHz spectrum to fulfill the demand in the American market.
Apple is competing against low-cost Android smartphones that support 5G feature.
Apple may use modem chips from Qualcomm in its new 5G iPhones. The company is also working on its modem chips, which is expected to be finished by 2021.
