Bitcoin Trades above $10,000 for the first time in over a year
Bitcoin rose over $10,000 for the first time in over a year, giving a new flow to the value and future of digital currencies, according to research site Coindesk.
The uprise of Bitcoin credit goes to Facebook’s announcement that they will introduce a digital currency, Libra, along with an app, Calibra that will allow online purchases of digital currency and an option to send and receive currency.
Facebook shared the news on June 18, four months after JPMorgan became the first major US bank to create a digital currency.
In the past two years, the Bitcoin price has faced notable fluctuation, as it raised up to $20,000 in December 2017 before falling to around $3200 a year later.
This year Bitcoin has experienced over 150% growth notwithstanding its tremendous fall in 2018.
