Elon Musk Says SpaceX To Launch Mars Rocket Prototype.
An aerospace manufacturing company SpaceX is executing its most challenging test-launch of a shiny Mars rocket prototype in south Texas.
The three-legged prototype is made of stainless steel and fitted with one of the SpaceX’s next-generation Raptor rocket engines.
Elon Musk, the founder of the company, has named the six-story-tall rocket ship “Starhopper” as it can hop to altitude up to 3 miles.
Engineers plan to launch the vehicle, which will lift the ship, around 65 feet or equal to one full Starhopper height on Tuesday.
The test-launch of Starhopper is one of the tests to push the limit of the vehicle as quickly as possible to learn all they can, as fast and safely they can, as said by a spokesperson from SpaceX.
Musk tweeted that there will be live-streaming video of the launch.
