Facebook launches an app that pays users to collect data

Facebook launches a new app that will pay the users in return for their data. The app is named Study, which will monitor information of the user’s available on their phone, per a Gizmodo report.

The app Study will gather information which incorporates the user’s app and individual activity, names of their features, and the time spent using them. The app will also track the user’s country location, device type, and network name.

The social media giant says that they will not collect information like username and passwords or some specific content like photos or messages, and the client’s information won’t be utilized to create target promotions.

In order to gather more info from the users, the company will run ads to encourage people to participate in this market research program.

The company claims that they will utilize the data to learn which apps people value more and how it is used for better understanding of community and to improve their product.
