Google’s paid music streaming service is gaining popularity at a rapid rate, as YouTube Music and Google Play Music have crossed the number of 15 million subscribers chasing other music streaming competitors.

Second and third largest are Apple and Amazon with 50 million subscribers and 30 million subscribers respectively.
Google still has to bring in more subscribers to occupy the number one position. Google affirms that YouTube music is the future of its premium music subscription.
The company said that they will phase out the older Google Play Music service once YouTube Music imitates all of its functions and launches in the same territories
