For fans of Jeopardy!, Alex Trebek’s dry sense of humor is nothing new, but the rest of us have gotten a glimpse at it through a clip that is going viral right now.
For the three decades that Trebek has hosted the show, he has always taken the time to get to know the contestants on the show. After a couple of commercial breaks, he comes to greet each contestant at their podium, where he asks them to share information and details on their interesting life stories that they want to share. Well, in the clip that is sweeping across everyone, one contestant shared that her favorite music was nerdcore hip-hop. She explained that this genre of music was “people who identify as nerdy, rapping about things they love.” Trebek summed up her description as “Losers, in other words.”

So far, the clip has amassed over 29.4k likes and 5.3k retweets. The clip is actually from an episode that aired four years ago. The user originally thought that Trebek had just started with these kinds of answers, but it turns out he has been doing it for years.
Trebek has been in the minds of fans, and others, alike, with his battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. His responses and words about his battle have been intentional, powerful, and poignant, just as Trebek has always been.
