Progressive Congress Members Sign Letter For Amazon Investigation

Amazon has recently confronted a Prime Day strike at a fulfillment center in Shakopee, Minnesota

Over a dozen progressive lawmakers including Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ro Khanna co-signed a letter to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

The letter demands a comprehensive investigation into Amazon and its warehouse workplace conditions.

Amazon was accused of several issues in the past like the worst working condition of employees, over-control on workers time and high productivity demands, and major injury to some employees.

The joint letter from the congress members to OSHA states that, “In the year 2019, working conditions in the United States of America should be the best and the safest in the world, reflected in previous fines levied by your agency, this is not the case with Amazon.”

Amazon representatives said that some politicians are bringing this forward to capture media attention for the 2020 US elections.
