“Secret” – To Donate $529,000 To US Women’s National Soccer Team

A supporter of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team is taking their help to the following level. Secret, a women’s deodorant brand, needs to help the group in their battle for equivalent pay.

CNN reports that the company will contribute $529,000 to the U.S. Women’s National Team Players Association. The brand says they will donate $23,000 for each of the 23 players on the World Cup-winning team to help in meeting the pay differences.

Secret says, “Let’s take this moment of celebration to propel women’s sports forward. We urge the US Soccer Federation to be a beacon of strength and end gender pay inequality once and for all.”

On March 28, members of the USWNT claimed the US Soccer Federation for gender discrimination. The lawsuit said that the federation pays the women less than men’s national team members.

The deodorant brand is the first USWNT sponsor to openly support the team’s fight and also showing the ads in support of equal pay.
