Trucking Company will provide a certificate program for Autonomous Vehicles drivers


Self-driving trucking companies are striving hard to find human labor for controlling self-driving vehicles.


A few companies are beginning projects in junior colleges to recruit employees. TuSimple and Starsky Robotics are planning to start the certificate program and career path to accomplish their need for drivers.


TuSimple, a self-driving trucking company has partnered with Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona to co-develop the first of its kind certificate program for truck drivers that would provide graduates a title of autonomous vehicle driver and operation specialist.


To enter the program, one must have a Class A commercial driver’s license prior to enrollment, which includes five classes.


The registration of classes will begin in August and the program will be initiated from September. Starsky Robotics unveiled that it will be called a career progression plan for drivers.


This program show drivers how they should work with technology or be dislodged by it – and those ready to learn will flourish.  However, the opposite side of this advancement is that human drivers are being replaced by AI.
