As of today, February 21st, The Witcher began filming on its second season in the UK.
The hit Netflix show made quite a bit of revenue for Netflix, in views alone more than 75 million people tuned in to watch the titular show.
Many praised Cavil’s dedication to the character of Geralt as well as the fantastic production design.
Obviously, we knew Season 2 was happening, but the news was pretty sparse. Well, not any longer! As the filming begins in the UK, the season is well ahead of its desired 2021 release date.
Not only is the next season well underway but we have some fun new additions to casting, including a few fan favorites.
Coming along for Season 2 is Yasen Atour, Agnes Bjorn, Paul Bullion, Thue Ersted, Aisha Fabienne, Kristofer Hivju and finally Mecia Simson.
Also a nice changeup to the directors chair is Sarah O’Gorman (Cursed), Ed Balagette (The Last Kingdom) and Greeta Patel (Meet the Patels).
Overall, some nice additions to an already new fan favorite series. With the added talent both in front and behind the camera, Season 2 is shaping up to be a huge improvement!
