Pete Buttigieg has announced his end in the 2020 Presidential race after failing to secure victory in any of the recent primaries. Buttigieg announced his resignation Sunday night in his hometown of South Bend, Indiana.
Historically, Pete was the first openly gay candidate to run for office. Although he did well in the Iowa and New Hampshire Caucuses, Pete was unable to secure enough votes. Especially in the Nevada and South Carolina Caucuses.
At 38 years old, Pete is the mayor of South Bend, Indiana and was one of the youngest candidates to run for office. He will not be able to run for president this upcoming election. Pete said he work to make the next president is nominated from the Democratic party.
