Seen at the beginning of the trailer, that bus scene long take? Yeah apparently they actually did that, and Emily Blunt was not exactly thrilled at the time. Director John Krasinski recently spoke out on the shot itself. There’s some pretty unintentionally hilarious backstory to what the conversation was like.

“Emily’s stunt is so real. I think I put my marriage on the line when I put her in the car. That’s true. Like when I was explaining to her on set all the things that were going to happen and I said, ‘You’re going to hit this stunt man, that car is going to come three feet from you and then this bus is actually going to clock at 40 miles an hour,’ her face fell and she went, ‘But not really.’ And I went, ‘No, no, the bus is coming at you at 40 miles.’ That’s a real bus, and that bus hits that car and all that is totally real.”

Well, you can’t really deny the effect of that practicality. Because that shot in the trailer is freaking incredible. Although when you also happen to be a mother and the lead of the movie… Understandably, Blunt had some hesitations for it.

Wife and crew alike were all amazing on set

As someone actively going into the film industry as a camera crew person, Krasinski’s praise for his crew is also awesome to see. Saying that his crew was amazing at getting it done.

“Because you know, everybody always says when they accept an award, ‘This is for my crew.’ And I don’t doubt that that’s all true. I’ve never seen a more deserving crew than my crew on this movie. There was zero ‘No’s.’ I mean, every time I came up with an idea and I said, ‘We’re going to shoot this shot,’ everything, to be honest from the studio and producers was, ‘It can’t happen.’ And my crew was like, ‘It can happen.’ … It was really moving to see, at the end of that shot, the entire crew ran in the middle of the street, high fives, it got emotional and there was hugging because we pulled off something nearly impossible. That’s all one shot.”

With all this info and praise from the crew and cast, it seems like Krasinski did pull off something awesome in this sequel. When it comes to the crew being as good at their jobs as they were As well as the cast being as willing to do stunts as they were, props all around.

Emily Blunt also recently spoke out on the moment in some more details and really gave a first person experience in this crazy stunt.

Being a fan of film and horror, A Quiet Place Part II is easily one of our most anticipated movies of the year. Everything about it has been a selling point so far, and with all these behind the scenes tidbits, our excitement could not be higher!
