Take on the Man of Steel
After the initial announcement by Rocksteady that they were working on a Suicide Squad game, we’ve been itching for a trailer or gameplay! And we finally have a trailer to go along with the upcoming video game from Rocksteady!
So looking at the trailer, it looks like Rocksteady is trying to infuse a little more humor into the game. But, if you were worried about only humor and a bunch of bright colors, it looks like Rocksteady knows their audience better than that. Because, after seeing Superman straight up murder a helicopter pilot, pretty sure this game is gonna get real dark.
That being said, we’re pretty sure that this is going to be something about mind control and telepathy. Since the trailer starts out looking at the crashed ship of Brainiac, and all of the minor villains do look like Brainiac inspired robots/creatures.
Metropolis is yours to explore
But it’s not just the Man of Steel that we’ll be going after in this game. Since the full title of the game is Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. With the ensuing interview with Will Arnett teasing that we’ll be going after the full original roster of the Justice League.
Wanna go after Flash, Wonder Woman, maybe some Martian Manhunter or Green Lantern? Eh? We certainly would not oppose fighting Hawkman if that’s the route that they want to go!
Metropolis is yours to explore as Rocksteady has completely created the city from the ground up. As a love letter to gamers, comics and movie fans all over the world.
Rocksteady Game Director Sefton Hill also confirmed that this will indeed be taking place inside of the Arkham Series universe. Now, if that means that this takes place prior to Arkham Knight or after Arkham Knight, remains to be seen. Even though Harley does mention finally being able to kill the Bat, but who knows which Batman that is.
Speaking of Harley Quinn, she’s going to be one of four playable characters inside of Suicide Squad. King Shark is the massive tank character, Deadshot is an aerial gunfighter and Captain Boomerang is fast and deadly with a combination of guns and boomerangs.
Sefton Hill did also clarify that the game is much more of a shooter as opposed to a brawler like the Arkham series was. Which we’re perfectly okay with, honestly. Move on from Arkham and make something completely different and new! Confirming from the panel that the game will support up to 4 player co-op inside of the game.
With a single player element inside of the game as well. So you’ll be able to explore, fight and kill the Justice League by yourself or up to 3 friends. As well as supporting seamless switching between characters in the single player mode.
