The Gang’s All Here!
James Gunn has peeled back the curtain on The Suicide Squad with a hilarious panel and a great cast reveal! We’ve been waiting on pins and needles to hear more about who’s playing who in the upcoming film, and now we finally know the details!
So who IS playing who in The Suicide Squad movie? Let’s jump down the rabbit hole and look at who’s playing whom!
Side note, why does everyone hate poor Michael Rooker? I love Michael Rooker!
Margot Robbie – Harley Quinn
Making her return to the role is fan favorite Margot Robbie! Harley Quinn has always been one of the biggest reasons that people loved The Suicide Squad comics, and she’s definitely going to be one of the biggest reasons to see this!
Joel Kinnaman – Rick Flagg
Another returning character from the original Suicide Squad movie is taht of Rick Flagg! Joel is making his much anticipated return to the role of Flagg, the undisputed leader of the Task Force X, and Amanda Waller’s second in command.
Viola Davis – Amanda Waller
Speaking of returning characters, heavy hitter Viola Davis is making her return to the role of the leader of Task Force X, Amanda Waller. Larger than life and ready to beat down the Squad!
Idris Elba – Bloodsport
The man who shot Superman! Bloodsport is making his much needed DC appearance , and being brought to all of his dramatic excellence by the fantastic Idris Elba!

Daniela Melchior – Ratcatcher 2
One of the least known and strangely creepy characters from the Batman universe is that of Ratcatcher. Apparently in this universe, the original Ratcatcher is either dead or just old, because it’s supposed to be a guy. That and because she’s named Ratcatcher 2, so there is that as well.
Jai Courtney – Captain Boomerang
Yet another returning character from Suicide Squad is the character of Captain Boomerang. By far one of the most popular and liked characters from The Flash’s rogues gallery, Boomerang will be present in James Gunn’s film.
Nathan Fillion – T.D.K.
Not gonna lie, we’re not actually sure who TDK is… We’ve read a ton of the Ostrander comics and are big DC fans but the name just does not ring a bell. Doesn’t help that the internet is basically useless at finding him. But hey, it;s Nathan Fillion, who cares who he’s playing!
Pete Davidson – Blackguard
Leave it to Pete Davidson to play a super badass looking character who’s known for dying a quick and gruesome death. Blackguard is one of the 1000, who ends up failing a training exercise and gets immediately murdered. Maybe that won’t be the case in The Suicide Squad, but it’d be hilarious if that was DAvidson’s role in the film.
Michael Rooker – Savant
Spoiled, insanely rich and more than a little cowardice are how you would describe the character of Savant. Basically he’s a glorified hacker who pretends to be a badass and ends up getting killed in different ways depending on the timeline.
John Cena – Peacemaker
As he said in the panel, Peacemaker is basically a satirical take on Captain America. He’s a douchebag who will go to any lengths to defend what he deems as important to America. Killing, murdering, blackmail, homicide, war crimes, you name it.
David Dastmalchian – Polka Dot Man
… I don’t know what you want me to say about his guy… It’s polka dot man…
Sean Gunn – Weasel
He’s a murdering and vindictive weasel with human-like intelligence. Basically he’s a screwed up version of Rocket Raccoon which seems quite fitting for a James Gunn movie.
Peter Capaldi – Thinker
A powerful telepath and manipulative sociopath being played by Peter Capaldi? Yes please!
Flula Borg – Javelin
The best way to describe Javelin; a watered down and more colorful version of Tim Drake’s Robin who turned to a life of crime.
Mayling Ng – Mongal
Not to be confused with the Superman villain, Mongul, a completely different character. Although, surprising no one with a name and skin color like that, she is the daughter of Mongul. Possessing his similar levels of strength, intelligence and cunning.
Steve Agee – King Shark
Beloved comic book character King Shark is making his big screen debut in The Suicde Squad. While he used to be a very B-List villain, his recent outings in The Flash as animated movies has boosted his appeal.
Good lord that is a massive cast of new characters to get through. If the camaraderie seen between the cast at that panel is any indication, we are in for a hell of a ride!
After seeing that Behind the Scenes look at the film, we’re completely sold on the idea. Promising some heavy 70’s war movie vibes with James Gunn’s effortless charisma and talent for comedy and drama. Honestly it sounds like nothing can go wrong with the film!
