Diners, Drive-Ins and Movies – Restaurants Turn Parking Lots into Drive-In Movie Theaters

Partying like it’s 1969!

Drive in movie theaters are back in the trending spotlight among shelter in place orders/social distancing. Which is something that most of us probably never expected to see.

Going back to the old school way of entertainment. Drive-ins are popping up all around Texas, Oklahoma and Alabama. Local restaurants are using this time to give people some good entertainment and some great local food.

It’s sort of a win-win for the restaurants. On one hand they’re making more money which is allowing them to retain employees. And it’s also giving people an opportunity to leave the house and just chill out for a while away from all the news.

Not all of it is sunshine and rainbows unfortunately. There have been a few restaurants attempting to do the same, but due to some states being more stringent, they’ve been shut down. Things doubled down when Sony and Paramount refused to allow certain films from being shown.

While it is not a perfect solution, and when movie theaters reopen it’ll be a thing soon forgotten, it’s still nice to see. Never gonna complain about people finding a way to prosper under increasingly difficult circumstances.

Do you think this is a good temporary solution? Would you go to a drive-in movie theater? Be sure to let us know in the comments and follow us here at Scoophash for more news
