Despite a firing by Disney and then a subsequent rehiring last year, Gunn made a jump to DC. He was assigned to writing/directing a soft reboot of the Suicide Squad movie.
Well, it seems that whatever his final project is for Disney is now wide open, because Suicide Squad is wrapped!

Rumors abound whether or not this movie is a hardreboot for the DCEU or just a complimentary tale. Whatever the case may be, if Gunn is excited about it, consider us excited about it!
While we still have a few months before we’ll see anything about the film, it is heartening to see. Especially considering the hardship of Gunn being unfairly fired, his father’s passing and his dog passing away.
To see him come out the other side of it and see how many people were willing to help him, is a nice restoration of faith.
Equally as exciting is the cast list lined up for this movie! It’s pretty friggin impressive in my opinion! While some originals are returning like; MArgot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis and Joel Kinnaman.
However, oh boy those new cast members: Idris Elba, John Cena, Nathan Fillion, Jennifer Holland, OH AND TAIKIA FRIGGIN WAITITI! There’s a few more but those are honestly enough of a standout to guarantee a ticket from me.
